This Summer I’ve been a part of a particularly kooky family, The Addams Family. As Lurch, the grunting butler, I sport a pair of eight inch platform shoes, and the traditional tuxedo. One of the perks of the job is greeting audience members as they enter the theater, along with Thing, the amputated hand, who offers programs. I have returned to the Stage in San Jose, re-commenced battles of Four Square, and created a new Running Club that went six-wide for the first time during our break from Tech Rehearsal. I am quite full of mirth…

We have left the rehearsal hall and good old Shotgun Stables, rife with noisy and effective heaters, A reasonable facsimile of the set, and all of the tea that you can drink.  We have moved into the Ashby Stage as of Thursday the 31st.  There is absolutely no doubt that theatre has been crafted carefully and joyfully in that building…

Creating new work is always tough, and challenging, and amazing, and beautiful, and you really get a chance to discover what it is that you believe about a story. I have done this several times for dance and a few times for film, but this is the first time that I have ever been a part of a brand new musical. It is really fun.
