Addams Family / Til Friends Do Us Part

Normal is an Illusion

This Summer I’ve been a part of a particularly kooky family, The Addams Family. As Lurch, the grunting butler, I sport a pair of eight inch platform shoes, and the traditional tuxedo. One of the perks of the job is greeting audience members as they enter the theater, along with Thing, the amputated hand, who offers programs. Lots of hi-jinks have ensued, including sipping drinks, head patting, and general confusion.

We’ve got singing, dancing dead ancestors, and a great band.  Check it out through July 26 at San Jose Stage Company.

When not on stage, my fellow dressing room comrades and I spent our downtime creating a fraternity of sorts, properly named Swamp Hole Lodge.  Members include Jeff “the Haircut” Adams, Brian “the Unwaxable” Herndon, Johnny “the Stache” Moreno, and myself, Will “the Receding” Springhorn.  We had our own set of rules and the motto Sic Non Oportet Nos Pilosum. (See Google translate). As well as our own Instagram (@swampholelodge). The ladies dressing room (or the “Cat Haus”) thought it would be fun to challenge us to an opening night game of beer pong, but we would have to do it in heels. Never before did four men in heels trounce women in cat ears so elegantly. Swamp Hole Lodge was victorious!

My short film Til Friends Do Us Part has been submitted to five film festivals. No bites thus far, but if you have any recommendations for a festival that might like a libido-fueled, dark comedy, please let me know.  You can learn more about the film here.
