Reckless

Slippers and Champagne

This Holiday Season I will not be singing, or re-enacting some of your favorite Winter stories as I did the past couple of years.  Instead, you can enjoy a dark comedy in which my character begins the play by stating to his wife that he has taken a contract out on her life... Merry Christmas!

I am back at San Jose Stage Company's appearing in Reckless by Craig Lucas!

I play Tom, the unhappy husband, and Tom Jr., my own son... Not at the same time.  Despite the crazy, comic nature of this play, my characters have quite a range of emotion to portray, which is super fun.

We perform through December 16th, Wednesday through Sunday in downtown San Jose.  The cast is fantastic, and they have really pretended to like me so far.  There are several cast members I am working with for the first time.  This show also marks my first time working with director Ken Kelleher, of Bay Area Theatre fame.

Our show consists of many scenes, thus many scene changes.  Practically everything is on wheels, and the crew act as stunt people rolling/riding/gliding/and sliding the furniture on and off, sometimes through very tight quarters.  I even got to teach Aya how to “slide into second” in order to go through a three-foot-high opening.  Unfortunately she never actually did it.

We are having an awesome time, and you could come and be a part of it.
